Lilliput Learning Academy is a successful early learning program for children ages three and four years old. It was established in September,1993 to meet the needs of those parents looking for a more structured learning
environment for their preschooler. It operates on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings (September to the end of June) for four year old children and Tuesday and Thursday for three year old children.

The philosophy of this program is to present concepts to the child at the stage in his or her development when he or she is most interested in learning. The focus is on individual learning in a child centered environment. The maximum group number is seven three year olds in Junior Lilliput and ten four year olds in Lilliput. This allows for individual attention to each child.

Curriculum MATH: Introduction to basic Math concepts, some of which will include: counting, numeral recognition, printing, ordinal numbers, sequencing, seriation, classification, geometric forms, measurement, comparison, adding and subtracting and other subject areas as the child progresses. (Note that all concepts are presented at the child’s level and emphasis is placed on progressing from concrete to abstract learning) Pre-Reading and Language Readiness: Our language program is based on ‘Phonemic Awareness’. This program is being used in the public school system and can be started at the preschool level. Children will focus on listening and sound recognition; they will also learn enunciation, recognition and printing of the alphabet. There is exposure to books and language development through show and tell, story time, finger plays, rhymes, and poems. Work stations activities will focus on individualize learning. Science: Children learn about nature and the world around them by discussing: the seasons, weather, temperature, plants, animals, and the universe. These are taught through hands on learning activities. Social Studies: Children learn about the people and the world around them and to be aware of the differences in culture and people. They learn about their own country and where they live in relation to it.
